I guess a problem of mine is that so many of the dresses in the gallery look like red carpet attire. To be real, I appreciate how MO has revamped fashion within the political sphere. I do, however, think designers should keep certain things in mind: 1) The dress should be event-appropriate. This is not Hollywood. 2) The dress should be seasonally appropriate. I don't imagine winters in DC being particularly warm. No one wants to see MO looking like the college girls who wear mini-skirts in December. 3) The dress should be age appropriate. While many of the designs are dead gorgeous, MO is not a young hipster. I'm looking at you, Peter Som and Zac Posen.
With that said, I like MJ's design (10), Von Furstenberg's (31), Roy's (37), and Zero + Maria Cornejo's (40).

With Obamarama in mind, let's take a closer look at Michelle Obama, who has also inspired a contingent of people, women of color particularly, to reimagine governmental structures in the United States. Because I do not know Michelle Obama personally, the quest for her to become my biffle begins with the first post of this blog. Much of what will be covered on this site will be my interpretations of any web accessible viral media starring my new best friend, MO.
Welcome, and enjoy your time here.
Should the public be notified of which designer label Michelle Obama wears?
Do you feel that Michelle Obama, despite her success, has to overcome stereotypical expectations around race and gender?
Do you think that Americans should expect the President (or any high ranking government official) to make appearances as entertainers on network television? (SNL, talk shows, etc.)
